I spent a productive hour birding at CRSP this morning. Upon arriving, an Osprey was perched in a Sycamore tree in front of the park offices. This is likely the same bird that has been present at CRSP since mid-December. Over 500 Canada Geese were in the lower pond (the pond east of the park offices) including a single Richardson's Cackling Goose. Perched in a tree on the West side of the lower pond was an immature Bald Eagle. Waterfowl included 110 Common Mergansers, 23 Canvasback, and 3 Northern Pintail on the pond in the Southwest corner of the park just north of Sunrise Highway (accessed by walking west from the parking lot).
