To reach the Maintenance Meadow enter the park at 79th & 5th Ave. Walk up the
paved path that goes uphill parallel to the sunken transverse road. Cross the
drive at the top of the hill and continue on the same route. You will see the
"Rambles Shed", known to park birders as the "Maintenance Building" . In front
of this building is a field which is known as the "maintenance Meadow".
Just now you can be sure you are in the right place when you see a number of
birders there.

Can someone give better directions than "Maintenance Meadow"? This term
does not come up in Google, nor on the Central Park website.

  Thanks!
