Hello All, There were 9 Snow Buntings, 5 Northern Larks, and 50
Boat tailed Grackles early this morning in the parking lot at Smith Point.
Lots of feeding Pine Siskins , American Goldfinch and 6 Red Breasted
Nuthatch along "Burma Road" east of the trailer park. We had a second Rough
legged Hawk in a week here at about 10 am,a light phased this time. Here's
some great news for a change! It has been reported in the Riverhead paper
and on News channel 12 that the "Riverhead Resort project at EPCAL in
Calverton will not go forward. The "Mega", resort would have included a
towering indoor Ski Mountain and 90 acre manmade lake. The Calverton
Grassland habitat survives for the time being. Good November Birding,
Carl Starace
