Other birds seen were 3 Great Blue Heron, 16 Sanderling, 3 Dunlin, 20 Black Bellied Plover, 2 Eastern Meadowlarks, 3 Chipping Sparrows, a Field Sparrow, and a single White Crowned Sparrow. When we returned from our hike we noticed a large flock of Laughing Gulls,[ 150+] in the bay Some late day birds were 1 Great Egret, and 26 FOS Long Tailed Ducks beating to east .I just received an e-mail from Rich Kaskan relating that he saw 4 Horned Larks flush up from the traffic circle as he was leaving the park at 1pm.Rich Kaskan also had his, FOS Short Eared Owl this morning at Cupsogue.
