Danny Melore and I paid a visit to Brooklyn this morning and spotted the Common Gull at one of its usual hangouts, just east of the pedestrian walkway over the Belt Parkway, at shortly before 11 this morning. A search of the waters off Coney Island/Brighton Beach did not turn up the Western Grebe, and a phone call with Doug Gochfeld indicated that he had no luck finding it further east.
