An imm. Red-headed Woodpecker was at Rockerfeller State Park this afternoon where the Overlook Trail meets the Ash Tree Loop. The bird frequented the same dead tree at 2:00 and at4:00 when it seemed to be settling in for the night. I first detected the bird by its mellow grrrr. From the parking lot take the path to Swan Lake. When you get to the lake the first hard right is the Overlook Trail. Follow this to its end when it meet the Ash Tree Loop. The dead tree the woodpecker stuck to is on the left right before the trails meet Good Birding Evan
