Hey, everyone!

Happy new year!

One of our regular attendees, Roman, reached out about Google's Summer of
Code 2026. He asked Tekin and I to drop something on the mailing list, so
here we are. Roman's looking for anyone with bandwidth who might enjoy
mentoring.

*I'm planning to apply for Google Summer of Code 2026 with Rage.To get
accepted, I need to demonstrate that we have a strong support system for
the students. I was wondering if [anyone] would be interested in becoming
GSoC mentors? It's a really high-impact way to give back and can look great
on a CV. It usually involves 4-5 hours a week during the summer. Mentors
also don't need to be experts in Rage internals - just solid Ruby
experience and a willingness to guide a junior developer.*

Get in touch!

—Rob and Tekin
