Hello NWRUG! My name is Matt Ryder, I head up the development efforts of a small software company based in East Didsbury called NowSignage. We recently took on investment and are now looking to get some smart people on to really accelerate our offering.
We're an established profitable company but we've retained our start-up way of thinking. We're currently working through ISO9001 and ISO27001 accreditation to ensure we do everything by the book. Our primary market is digital signage - we build technology to show marketing and communication materials on screens in a variety of locations, offices, retail and education. If someone has a message that they need their audience to see, we pride ourselves on getting it in front of them in a manner that is timely, reliable and cost-effective. We're a Rails-based organization, but that doesn't mean we're tied to Rails. We have a variety of products: an Java-based Android signage player; a Javascript-based signage player for web browsers; and a cool pure Javascript widget for webpages to embed customer feedback, news and reviews. A rebuild of the Rails platform is also on the cards. I know that the market is incredibly small for Rails developers in the north, so we hope to put together a compelling offer to anyone interested in this opportunity. We're offering between £30-60k, depending on experience, and have just set up our LTIP scheme which gives any new employees an equity share in the business. Remote work will be available once we've got you fully inducted in the company, but if possible, we'd like to have you in the office - we're a fun bunch, honest!
