Morning all, I have a short maintenance project to for an online magazine site 50connect.co.uk. The site is ageing and has been infrequently maintained - Rails version 3.0 and Ruby 1.8. This is quite a complex application. Ultimately the goal is to upgrade to more current versions of both, but for this project the following tasks are priority:
• Cache and error log clearance - error logs are not auto purged and over time build to a level where the sites fail during traffic spikes. We need a solution that either allows admin to clear logs via CMS or an auto clear service to be introduced to eliminate need for manual intervention. • CSS changes - competition page content template has wrong column width for text - content should run full 650px page width • Sphynx search restart - sphinx service crashes and fails to reboot after high traffic spikes. Needs manual restart. • Fix missing registration panel - High traffic events cause services such as registration and sign-in assets to fail. Manual restart required. We are London based so this will be a remote project, we can get together on Skype for updates and idea sharing. Drop me a line with availability, day rate and experience level.
