I nearly replied to this the first time round but didn't. I'm all for the talk in principle, but I wonder, will it trigger anyone to try dependency injection as a design technique? I mean, I'm all sold on DI, but if you're working in Rails all day – and I believe it was @eightbitraptor who described this as "DI-hostile" at the previous related NWRUG talk – applying it consistently takes a not inconsiderable effort.
I don't want to sound cynical (which I inevitably will), as I believe promoting and demonstrating DI is a valuable flow of information in the long term, but my own impatience made me wonder what measurable impact it could have. Be patient with me, as I deleted my first reply to this effect :-) Ash PS I'd come to the talk On 7 Aug 2013, at 23:13, Stephen Best <[email protected]> wrote: > Tekin - Yes it's the same talk, would be great if you could come! > > Stephen. > > On Monday, 5 August 2013 20:29:08 UTC+1, Tekin Suleyman wrote: > Hi Stephen, > > Sounds great.
