Hmmmmm, no need for double entry....

I was once told that double entry book keeping was one of the main invented 
machines of the human race.

Along with the wheel, lever, fire etc.

I think it would be very difficult to gain acceptance for any accounting system 
that did not at least approximate the functionality of double entry book 
keeping.
