in transparent_mode=2 your non-pfring application cannot see incoming
packets. As this does not happen, I believe that either the loaded
module not the one you expect, or pf_ring is not loaded.
please check in /proc/net/pf_ring/ and see what's happening

Hi,
On Linux, I installed the PF_RING module and the PF_RING aware ixgbe
driver.
When loading the pf_ring module with transparent_mode=2, I still find
that my tcpdump (non pf_ring compatible) is able to capture packets.
First it seemed like it could be a tcpdump-promiscuous-mode issue, but
I can even ssh into that machine through the network interface. This
suggests that packets are still reaching the kernel.
I want my packets to bypass the kernel and go straight to my user
application running atop PF_RING. Can you help identify where I'm wrong?
I will great appreciate any help on this.
Thank you,
