Hi Carl increasing the buffering power increases the ability to handle spikes without loosing packets in case of applications doing heavy processing. In general it is recommended to use the max number of slots supported by the adapter in case of ZC (default if you use our script), and a reasonable number of in-kernel ring slots in case of standard drivers (the default is usually fine).
