Probably, the full archive is quite big. It is also possible that there is a 
borked message file on the server itself, but I have no way of testing that 
quickly and I do not want to start a heavy download myself.

You can go to each of the separate monthly pages and download that month’s 
archive from there. That is a bit more effort but should work. And if there is 
indeed a problem, at least it would be narrowed down to a single month.
