I think you're confused about versions -- destiny is much newer than zaku.  
Hopefully things will make a bit more sense to you with that in mind!

And I'm not sure what you're talking about regarding discovery -- it is very 
similar between the two versions, except that the one in destiny works with 64 
bit DPIDs and the one in zaku doesn't.
