The thing is there are more factors at play here, for example we have also removed [lightbends sslconfig](https://github.com/lightbend/ssl-config) even though there wasn't any specific bug and there wasn't any feature that pekko desperately needed. The problem here is that using typesafe config is putting as at risk, because if something does happen in the future then we are beholden to lightbend to solve it.
