@jlutzRossVideo , unfortunatelly, there are no plans to add Java 8 support and to makt any hot fix. But, in the distant future it may be possible (no actual date or version), that client libraries will be split from core ones. It will make capable to support lower versions of Java for client libraries. You can discuss it on the user list.
