That link failed to help me where to change the configuration in case you are running this as an installed package like we do (on Ubuntu). I saw no place in the configurations of couchDB to change this. It turned out that I found a place where this variable is defined the `/opt/couchdb/bin/couchdb` file which is a script that is called at launch. There I could add the ` -S 536870912` and my problem is solved. Having more explicit warnings about the size aspect of the problem would be cool (as opposed to a timeout). -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
