Yep on the current version of ssh2 - just installed this week. Ok - I think I am closer to figuring this out now with your help.
The code on your gist works just as expected on a regular centos host but when I try it against my target server the *exec* option does trigger. The difference I suspect is that my target server is an embedded device and maybe it has some funky terminal settings I am not accounting for. The ssh login presents a banner and prompt as follows: Last login: Fri Oct 10 12:19:01 2014 from 10.240.106.106 (console) # I seem to only have success when using *shell* and performing a *stream.write* with \n to execute the desired commands.
