Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) is recruiting for a PKPD Modeller
to join our Translational Medicine team. The position is for 6 months
(from October to March included) and is based in Geneva, Switzerland.
JOB PURPOSE
MMV is a Swiss non-profit foundation whose mission is to reduce the
burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by discovering, developing
and delivering new, effective and affordable antimalarial drugs.
Working with drug discovery/development partners in academia and industry,
as well as with country-based delivery partners and national ministries
of health/malaria control programmes, MMV's focus extends from the
identification of new potential treatments for malaria through to clinical
development, regulatory approval and delivery-for-impact in
malaria-endemic countries. Since its founding in 1999, MMV and partners
have brought forward 12 new medicines that have saved an estimated
1.9 million lives.
We are currently seeking a PKPD Modeller to join our Translational Medicine
team.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide PKPD modeling expertise to preclinical and clinical projects to
help speed-up the development of molecules for antimalarial treatment or
chemoprevention
* PK/PD analyses of non-clinical and clinical studies, especially of
combinations of new antimalarial compounds
* Further develop skills in areas such as:
- Preclinical in vitro assays and in vivo experiments used to make
first human predictions;
- Formulation development
- PBPK analyses
- Clinical development
* Publish high quality research articles if relevant
* Attend selected conferences for training, giving presentations and posters,
representing MMV
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
* Advanced degree in Biomedical Science, Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacology,
Biometrics or Computational Engineering
* Track record within the duties mentioned above
* Experience working in a cross-functional matrix is an asset
