This is a leadership position in *Janssen BioTherapeutics*, within the
department of *Biologics Development Sciences*, that informs the discovery
of biological drug molecules, and drives the preclinical development of new
molecular entities (NME) through IND filing. The Scientific Director will
provide strategic input for biologics development at discovery, preclinical
and early clinical development stages. This position will lead a group of
scientists primarily responsible for serving as a Translational PK/PD
Leader on project teams, conducting mechanistic PK/PD studies and providing
modeling and simulation support for biologics across 5 therapeutic areas
from discovery to early clinics stages. This individual will also serve as
an expert and a key contact person interacting with stakeholder
departments, providing strategic direction and vision on fundamental
insight in biologics PK/PD to support study designs, compound development
plans, and regulatory submissions.



*Essential Functions:*

   - Program/Project Leadership and execution (Drives/directs
   operational/strategic scientific strategies and monitors priorities,
   timelines, resources & interacts with key individuals
   - Operations management (Identifies/creates new procedures &
   technologies)
   - Information management (Provides tech presentations, scientific
   publications, approves key research documents and expands external
   scientific visibility)
   - Impact (establishing organization/business strategies and alignment
   with org. objectives)
   - People development (drives & implements talent strategies, training
   programs, Leadership mentor)
   - Innovation (Independently identifies and enhances processes, develops
   new thinking beyond existing norms, contributes to making strategic
   decisions, implements new discoveries)


*Qualifications*

   - PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Clinical Pharmacology, or Biological
   Sciences
   - Area of Study:  Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacometrics, DMPK,
   Experimental Pharmacology
   - 10-15 years business experience or 3-5 years of experience performing
   progressively advanced duties at the Sr. Principle Scientist or Associate
   Scientific Director level
   - Supervisor/people management experience is required
   - 2+ years of People Management Experience
   - Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, demonstrated
   understanding of various pharmacometric software programs (NONMEM, Monolix,
   MATLAB, NONLIN, etc).
   - Global regulatory experience is desirable and staying current in new
   biologic platforms.
