And it's possible to use a debugging log, [2] to see how nginx processes a request. Please note, nginx lua module is the third-party product, so I'd recommend to ask the module's vendor how to debug an execution of a lua script. Also, nginx functionality can be extended with NGINX JavaScript module, [3]. Thank you.
