The next question is how this happened. Unfortunately, this is not something easy to answer unless you have debug logs since nginx start. The most likely reason is a process crash, check logs since last restart to see if there are any. Also, as already suggested, try testing without 3rd party modules if there are any. There were also reports that long locked entries might appear with http2 enabled, see https://trac.nginx.org/nginx/ticket/1163 for details.
