You fixed it! Reducing it to the simplest config that still works, I found that the location /nginx_status block doesn't work with munin inside of any other server block. It only works inside its own server block like so: server { location ~ ^/nginx_status$ { stub_status on; access_log off; allow 127.0.0.1; deny all; } } Is this a munin bug?
