Maybe this will do it. Run 'linuxconf' from either the command prompt or from
X. Select Networking - Basic Host Information. Scroll down (or tab) and make
sure both eth0 and eth1 are Enabled.

Subject: [newbie] Not detecting eth1 at bootup

I installed a Realtek 8029 pci nic and inserted the line:

alias eth1 ne2k-pci

into the /etc/conf.modules file. I do a modprobe eth1 and it detects the
card properly; however, I get no indication at bootup that it is even
looking for eth1. I have read the instructions in the ethernet.HOWTO and I
cannot see anything that I am doing wrong. Does anyone have any ideas?
Mandrake 6.1. Already have a 3c509 ISA card installed that has been working
the whole time.

BTW, I switched eth0 with eth1 and it then detected the card and failed to
detect the 3c509, so it seems that maybe I am missing something in telling
Linux to detect eth1.

Thanks,
Wendell Gragg
