Interesting that everyone who has seen this seems to be running a Thinkpad (!?). I'm using a T61p.
Anyway, your suggestion worked great, thanks Vitaly. I experimented further and discovered that an MTU of 1496 works and 1500 does not work. Should I file a bug or is this expected?
