yes, i use that trick with Edit: type some random text (a Return will 
do) onto a blank page so Edit takes on the filetype as Text, then 
paste in my bit from outside.  result is text, whatever the outside 
bit was.  a bit easier than changing filetype to Text via the menu.

however, in this oddity, the bit i copy (with Ctrl-C) from Impression 
is ALREADY filetyped as text.  (tested by dropping it into a totally 
empty fresh Edit window.)  the mystery concerns why Netsurf's URL bar 
will not accept it with Ctrl-V.
