a few mysterious entries appeared in my font list, things like
"ST;Klingon". i think there were five items prefixed "ST;", with that
curious semicolon. i made a textfile in Edit display in this Klingon
font. (using RiscOS 4.39, Netsurf r5991)

these fonts have disappeared from the list now, possibly because i
went to FontDir and told it to do "Active > Default".

just before i noticed the strange fonts, i was using Netsurf and
downloaded a PDF, some of which i read with Riscript 5.03.

i searched Riscript's folder of downloaded fonts for "Klingon", also
the hundreds of fonts in FontDir: nothing found.

in Netsurf's "Choices... > Fonts" i find ST on the list, but there is
no submenu, no Klingon. choosing ST as the sans-serif font seems to
cause Netsurf to hang. i searched within !Netsurf and its choices
folder for a file called ST: nothing found. didnt find any font
directories within Netsurf. i quit and restarted Netsurf: no ST on
its font list now.

so i'm mystified. what's "ST;"? whence did this Klingon arrive?

i think i've seen this phenomenon in the past but never investigated.
