I have the very same problem than Paul for a guestbook on a site I maintain as well. Spam is increasing now and I have to act. My solution is a totally naive one and I'm interested to see whether my reasoning works: I think spam bots fill all text fields present, after all they want to get their message across, the more the better. I have now added a text field to the form with the comment "Please leave empty!" which I enforce. I did this just today, so have no experience on how good it works. But I'd be interested to hear what others think, perhaps by private email because it's getting off-topic here, but as the topic was raised here ... please forgive me. -- Stefan Bellon
