(r3855 or later.) Many thanks for your fast response on this. Unfortunately it's no better. I just downloaded r3855 and tried it. The problem persists. The box is still 3 lines high. It's somewhat wider than I think it was before, so the text only wraps onto the second line; the third line is empty. This is as I enter the page. When I select an item from the pull-down menu, the top line is redrawn with a truncated version of the string I select, because the box isn't wide enough to display the whole one. The second line doesn't get overwritten, so it still displays the part of the first line (the line on entry into the page) that wrapped round. The third line remains empty. So, on entry into the page, the lines are wrapped; on pulling down an item, it is not wrapped and therefore doesn't overwrite the earlier text. Why it's still 3 lines high and the last line is empty, I don't know. If there's any more diagnostic information I can give you, just ask!
