Hi Gary,
Yes, that is expected behavior.
Since the UUID is the unique ID, a tenant can choose to name networks
using the same string.
Its a bit tricky, but I think the convention we follow in the API docs
(http://docs.openstack.org/incubation/openstack-network/developer/quantum-api-1.0/content/index.html)
is that any value that must be unique is explicitly described as such,
and all other fields are not expected to be unique.
Thanks for the clarification.

Hi,
Is it intended that a network with the same name can be created
more than once? Or is this a bug?
For example:
[root@localhost ~]quantum create_net default XXX
Created a new Virtual Network with ID:
1acf8fe7-5d53-4b55-beaa-1ca603f4c175
for Tenant: default
[root@localhost ~]# quantum create_net default XXX
Created a new Virtual Network with ID:
e5d97af5-4362-43f9-a665-00a65bbd0c1a
for Tenant: default
Thanks
Gary
