Ok folks, these changes are now merged and I've done some basic manual
testing on the final builds as well, so I have asked Thierry to cut RC1.

PLEASE hold off on merging anything into master until the
milestone-proposed branch is cut.

I will be coordinating with folks from distros to get them to package the
RC1, so we can do as much of our RC1 testing as possible using distro
releases.

RC1 is our planned quantum release, barring the discovery of significant
issues. If you find an issue you believe is significant, the change will
have to first be merged into master, then after discussion about whether it
is a release critical bug, I can pull it into the milestone-proposed
branch.

Great work on getting to the RC! Let's keep up the testing so that we make
sure the final product is a good representation of all of the work that's
been put in during the Essex period :)

Dan
