Hi Tomoe,

This is definitely a reasonable thing to want.  One of the things we'll be
discussing at the summit is a plan for merging Melange and Quantum, in
which case, the "attributes" of a port may well include addresses that
Melange has allocated, including MAC + v4/v6 addresses.  This would make a
Quantum Port somewhat similar to an Amazon Elastic Network Interface (ENI).


Otherwise, as Sumit points out, the Quantum API can be extended for plugin
specific properties.
