Rajaram, Sounds good, but are you planning on having the plugins send separate notifications for additional information they have? It might be useful to allow the plugin to modify a notification before it's sent, if practical.

Blueprints : https://blueprints.launchpad.net/quantum/+spec/quantum-notifications and https://blueprints.launchpad.net/quantum/+spec/quantum-usage Briefly, this involves sending notifications about important events such as network/port creations to a queue. This can then be consumed by a third party system like yagi<https://github.com/Cerberus98/yagi> for billing or monitoring purposes. We are thinking of using Glance's approach for the notifier. The notifier can optionally be 'switched off'. The notifications can be sent at the api level, so the plugins dont need to be bothered by this. But if a plugin does have any extra useful info, it will be able to send any notifications that it wants. Would like to know your thoughts on this.
