No difference. I have TCP_NODELAY in my Samba config and copying files from the server is painfully slow. That's what got me started on all these tests.
BTW, did someone already suggest disabling TSO if it happens to be enabled?
Different thread. But I tried it and got an option not supported message. That thread did suggest to try a UP config instead of SMP. I'll add that to my list of tests to do.
Packet traces can be interesting... :)
That one's on my list. I'll try a few of the simple tests first then capture some logs with tethereal.
