Hi Charles, here is what I have in my /etc/rc.conf: --8<-- # PostgreSQL pgsql=YES pgsql_flags="-i -l" pgsql_home="/disk/databases" -->8-- The "-i" is not to be copied verbatim if you don't understand the implications, see "man postgres". In my case I needed it because I ran admin gui tools on a different machine (and the postgress server host did not have X installed). And I think you are right, the wiki page is outdated and needs an update to make this all a lot clearer.
