Alan, Michael,Trivially change getFdEntry() to ensure that the given fd is not >= fdCount since fdTable ( the array indexed by fd ) has only fdCount elements.
I'm not sure how anyone seen this bug in real life, but making this simple change won't hurt and is strictly correct.
