Why are your response times so high at your first hop? Are you maxing
out your connection or connected to your router over wireless?

In my case, I suspected two things.
1. congestion (verizon over subscribed)
2. packet out of order (high packet drops in alternet-google could be
a symptom of multipath)
Not sure which has bigger performance impact to youtube.
