NANOG Community, I am excited to announce the official NANOG Discord! Everyone can join by visiting https://discord.nanog.org<https://discord.nanog.org/>.
In the Discord, you will find groups of channels related to the conferences, NANOG committees, technology (#bgp, #hardware, #ix, and more), and official + unofficial affinity groups. There is also a voice channel to communicate in real-time via audio, video, and screenshare. When you join, please read the #welcome and #rules channels, and tell us a little bit about yourself in the #general channel. Discord roles can be requested in the #role-request channel by providing your name, and letting us know if you are either a NANOG member, a committee member, board member, or staff. While it is not a requirement, we highly recommend you set your Discord Server Nickname to your First and Last Name, and (optional) include your AS number and/or business name (example “Ryan Hamel - Zayo (AS6461)”) to help members of the community find you. The Discord is managed and moderated by the newly formed Moderation Committee (https://nanog.org/about/who-we-are/committees/moderation-committee/), using similar guidelines to the mailing list which also includes the Code of Conduct (https://nanog.org/about/code-conduct/).
