Tragedy of the commons. I kind of like the Internet the way it is. The best-effort nature is what allows us to build it in a way that makes it a viable option for global data transport. If all paths on the Internet had to be high-priority, I doubt it'd be a viable project outside of a monopoly or duopoly. Mark.
