I suspect this is a problem with KDE rather than Mythtv, but I was hoping maybe one of you could point me in the right direction to start debugging this.
This usually happens if the user you attempt to login as, does not have write permission to .kde. Be sure the ownership of /home/[your_user] and .kde is what it should be by logging in as root verifying permissions.
