MPlayer 1.0pre4-3.3.4 mythvideo 0.18.1-2) mythtv 0.18.1-5 lircd 0.7.1pre2
When I use the mythvideo (version 0.18.1-2) plugin to play an AVI file on my XBOX frontend (mythtv version 0.18.1-5), I am unable to control the video using either the keyboard or the xbox remote control. The Arrow keys can be seen to move the cursor around but nothing else works. The player configuration is "mplayer -fs -zoom -quiet -vo xv %s" which is the default. If I change it to "internal", it doesn't play back at all. If I get rid of all options except for -fs, there is no change. I can watch TV recordings using the input devices normally using the normal mythfrontend tool (which I assume is what is meant by "internal"). Both mplayer and mythfrontend are being run as user "live" and the .lircrc file is in /home/live/.lircrc and, via symbolic link, /home/live/mythtv/lircrc. This .lircrc file seems to be correct as evidenced by the fact that I can control the mythfrontend. It has reasonable looking entries for program "mplayer" as well as "mythtv", "xine" and "vlc". When I log in to the xbox remotely and send the mythfrontend display back to my linux desktop, I can use my keyboard to control the video without any problem (not that I would normally do that of course.) When mythvideo runs mplayer, its process's current working directory is /home/live so I don't see why it wouldn't find the .lircrc file. I modified the player configuration to include "-verbose 1 -nojoystick > .mythtv/log 2>&1" and was able to capture the following: |MPlayer 1.0pre4-3.3.4 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Team | |CPU: Intel Celeron 2/Pentium III Coppermine,Geyserville 734.2 MHz (Family: 6, Stepping: 10) |Detected cache-line size is 32 bytes |CPUflags: MMX: 1 MMX2: 1 3DNow: 0 3DNow2: 0 SSE: 1 SSE2: 0 |Compiled for Debian. |Reading config file /etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf |Reading config file /home/live/.mplayer/config |Reading /home/live/.mplayer/codecs.conf: Can't open '/home/live/.mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory |Reading /etc/mplayer/codecs.conf: Can't open '/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf': No such file or directory |Using built-in default codecs.conf. |CommandLine: '-fs' '-zoom' '-quiet' '-vo' 'xv' '-verbose' '3' '-nojoystick' '/Video/Videos/BG1/BG-1x01-Thirty_Three.avi' |init_freetype |get_path('font/font.desc') -> '/home/live/.mplayer/font/font.desc' |font: can't open file: /home/live/.mplayer/font/font.desc |font: Reading section: [info] |font: Reading section: [files] |RAW: /usr/share/mplayer/font//iso-8859-1/arial-18/iso-8859-1-a.raw 4216 x 28, 256 colors |RAW: /usr/share/mplayer/font//iso-8859-1/arial-18/iso-8859-1-b.raw 4216 x 28, 256 colors |font: Reading section: [characters] |font: Reading section: [files] |RAW: /usr/share/mplayer/font//iso-8859-1/arial-18/osd-mplayer-a.raw 536 x 32, 256 colors |RAW: /usr/share/mplayer/font//iso-8859-1/arial-18/osd-mplayer-b.raw 536 x 32, 256 colors |font: Reading section: [characters] |font: resampling alpha by factor 0.750 (192) DONE! |font: resampling alpha by factor 0.750 (192) DONE! |Font /usr/share/mplayer/font/font.desc loaded successfully! It doesn't say so explicitly but I assume that it is picking up ~/.lircrc as described in the mplayer man page. Can somebody suggest a course of action? Thank you all very much!
