Sorry, it is obvious to me! About a week and half ago I started
on the
MythTV trek and read all the documentation that said you need to get
your zap2it account with the MythTV code. several attempts later
I give up!

You went to labs.zap2it.com <http://labs.zap2it.com> and created an
account. Once there and logged in, can you choose your channel
lineup? Then in mythsetup you enter the same name and password, save,
then run mythfilldatabase from a shell prompt?
Where in this process does it not work for you?

I have not even established the zap2it account! I give the
username/password and then complete the survey and hit the submit
button. It then tells me to complete the survey I just did. When I
wait some number of minutes to daya I find it did not create the
account. The certificate codes I have used are ZIYN-DQZO-SBUT from the
"Installing and Using MythTV" pg 26 and TGYM-ZKOC-BUTV which is in the
KnoppMythInstall page in the KnoppMythInstall Wiki. The user interface
on the labs.zap2it.com site would force me to create a new user every time
