I am experiencing the same very annoying problem (this is on an Asus
Pundit using both SVHS and VGA outputs) the SVHS/TVout is rock solid but
the VGA output loses sync on every buttonpress.
It has something to do with the screensaver being deactivated every time
you press a button (what screensaver??)
if you dig deep enough into the forum archives you will find a
mentioning of the problem.
I already tried recompiling MythTV frontend without the offending line
but ended up with a binary which didn't want to run with my current
setup. I'm using the latest KnoppMyth and it still has got this bug
which apparently only shows up with the Sis chipset and on the VGA
output. Maybe it is in the Winischofer X drivers.
On my old CRT monitor the screen just 'wiggled' a little but the LCD
thinks it is being put to sleep and switches off momentarily, hence the
black screen.
Help!
Indeed...
For viewing it is not a problem but skipping through the EPG for example
is simpy unbearable...
