Prices on these cards are about the same here in > Norway. anyone with experience? If it's going in the same box, there's little point getting another PVR-350. I'd go for a -500 or -150 card, depending on how many tuners you want. > The Problem: > > I'm getting picture on the TV-screen/PVR350 output, butI can't seem to get > XV support working .. so the video is quite choppy and useless so far.. Video choppy outside of MythTV itself? MythVideo will make use of the XV support when launching mplayer or xine. In MythTV, make sure that Use 'PVR-350 decoder' is checked in the frontend setup. > > Is there a solution to this? > Use the latest version of the X driver, make sure it's loading in your xorg.conf file, and upgrade your ivtv drivers. Nick _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users Thanks for all your replies.. I've tried some of your solutions, and it seems like I'm almost there now.. I upgraded the ivtvdev/x driver to the latest version (0.10.6), which is supposed to have hardware rendering/XV support Then I upgraded ivtv to 0.3.8 which is the latest stable in Gentoo portage. Modprobe ivtv now gave me a warning about some buggy firmware, so I installed the recommended ones for enc/dec : ivtv: Encoder revision: 0x02040011 ivtv: Decoder revision: 0x02020023 The problem is now the ivtv-fb module.. it cant be loaded at all.. "modprobe ivtv-fb" (as root of course) gives me: FATAL: Error inserting ivtv_fb (/lib/modules/2.6.12.4/extra/ivtv-fb.ko): Operation not permitted And this line appears in dmesg : ivtv-osd: Specified card (id 0) is either not present or does not support TV out. I've googled for a few hours now.. looks like there are some other people with the same problem.. but can't find any solutions.. is this the end?? -Per Olav- One more thing: this is the first time i've ever used mailing lists. Am I doing things right? _______________________________________________ mythtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users
