thanks for the info, I'll try this out.
But from what it looks like this enables the s-video port.
I failed to mention earlier, the video card I am using is a MSI FX-5700 LE.
It has 3 ports - svga, dvi and svideo.
I am told these can be active and displaying three separate video streams
simultaneously. at least in the win env. My goal is to have the svga and
dvi active.
I'll ping msi and nvidia and see what they have to say about this.
thanks all for the assistance

Does Myth support dual monitors?
I'd like to run the linux console on the primary display monitor and have
myth tv output to the second port of my nvidia fx 5700 card.
Enable twinview, "clone" mode. Here is mine:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Monitor Vendor"
ModelName "Unknown monitor"
HorizSync 30 - 50
VertRefresh 60
EndSection
Section "Device"
Identifier "GeForce6200"
Driver "nvidia"
VendorName "Leadtek"
BoardName "WinFast A6200TD"
Option "DPMS" "False"
Option "NvAGP" "1"
Option "NoLogo" "1"
Option "TVStandard" "NTSC-M"
Option "TVOutFormat" "SVIDEO"
Option "TVOverScan" "0.6"
Option "TwinView" "1"
Option "NoTwinViewXineramaInfo" "on"
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "30-50"
Option "SecondMonitorVertrefresh" "60"
Option "TwinViewOrientation" "Clone"
Option "MetaModes" "800x600, 800x600; 640x480, 640x480"
EndSection
So far I haven't been able to get the os to even acknowledge the fact the
video card had dual displays, let alone myth.
