Since you are already using Powerstrip, you might also wanto to try one of Entech's other tools called Monitor Asset Manager (formerly called MonInfo). (http://www.entechtaiwan.net/util/index.shtm)

"All the information provided by the display to the system is displayed in readable format, including DPMS and GTF support, color chromaticity values, recommended resolutions and exact timing requirements, as well as device minimum requirements and maximum limits. The latest version also extracts and decodes EIA/CEA-861 extension data for consumer electronics devices like HDTVs."

This tool provided the break through that I needed to get Myth working with my 42" Plasma.

Good luck!

Note: This is a windows-based tool. So, it may not appeal to Linux purist. But for pragmatists who still have a windows machine lying around the house MonInfo is worth a look if you TV has VGA or DVI/HDMI inputs. _______________________________________________
