type:  which lame
and see if you REALLY have lame installed....
Should yield something like /usr/bin/lame

Then check that it is somewhere myth can find it.

/usr/local/bin/lame

Here is the version of lame:

lame -v
LAME version 3.96.1 (http://lame.sourceforge.net/)
