I think I am using ALSA:spdif. I use kmix to modify the settings. How do I check for sure?In mythfrontend Setup->General ->Audio make sure 'audio output device' says ALSA:spdif, and make sure you select "enable AC3 to spdif passthrough" and de-select "Use internal volume controls"

I have the hd3000 installed it works great. I am having a problem with the AC3 passthrough. When I check that option and try to watch an hd program I get static. If I uncheck it I get sound, but not surround sound. I get surround sound when I play dvd's and files encoded with ac3, but not hd. Am I missing something? I have a soundblaster 5.1 and am using the digital out to an amp.

What's your output device configured as? (hint: should be ALSA:spdif)
