I think something is going on with some people's builds that silently
prevents libmpeg2 from working.

There are people who post to this mailing list, and the dev list, who
specifically claim 1080i with 2100+ and even 1800+, but more than that,
I spoke with someone in IRC who turned it on and saw a huge drop in CPU
utilization. Then there are people like you, me, and a few other posts
I've read, who turn it on, see no difference, and are like "WTF - looks
like a NOP to me."

Is there anyone (HDTV equipped) who has libmpeg2 working and can share
distro/hardware stats/build steps/tweaks/advice?
